Refreshing Cocktails for Summer Weddings

When summer wedding season is underway, you know you're in for some lovely and refreshing cocktails at all of the outdoor weddings. The temperatures are high and the sun is shining, so you want your food and drink selections to be cool and refreshing. Wedding cocktails should be symbolic and beautiful and should offer your guests a delightful splash of flavor to get the good times rolling. Whether you are having a sophisticated or romantic wedding or a laid-back and casual celebration, you can offer guests the best wedding cocktails for summer.

Fire and Passion

Ingredients:

  • 1 ounce blood orange juice
  • Dash simple syrup
  • Pulp from 1 passion fruit
  • 2 ounces Vodka

Build the drink over crushed ice and put it into a rocks glass. It can be garnished with a perfect piece of Ruby Red grapefruit.

Happily Ever After

Ingredients:

  • Cucumber (peeled)
  • Kiwi (peeled)
  • Club soda
  • 0.5 ounce simple syrup
  • 1.5 ounces absinthe

Muddle together two cucumber slices, two kiwi slices, and the simple syrup in a double rocks glass. Add ice, and then add the absinthe. Top off the drink with club soda, and garnish with a slice of kiwi on the glass.

The First Dance

Ingredients:

  • 4 chunks of watermelon
  • 1 ounce fresh lime juice
  • 0.5 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 ounce simple syrup
  • 1 ounce triple sec
  • 3 ounces 7-year rum

Blend ingredients together, pour into a glass, then garnish with a slice of watermelon.

Sparkling Romance

Ingredients:

  • 2 parts either champagne, Cava, or Prosecco
  • 1 part rhubarb liqueur

Combine ingredients in a chilled coupe or champagne flute, then garnish using frozen fruits, such as strawberries, raspberries, or even an edible flower to provide the glass with great color.

Rosé Crush

Ingredients:

  • 1 shot of orange juice
  • 1 shot of cranberry or raspberry juice
  • 2 scoops of ice, crushed
  • 2 shots of rosé wine
  • Fresh raspberries and cranberries
  • Fresh mint

Put crushed ice into a martini glass. Pour the rosé wine, the orange juice, and the cranberry or raspberry juice into a mixer and shake to mix. Pour drink into ice and garnish with berries, adding the sprig of mint on the side.

Blushing Bride

Ingredients:

  • 0.5 ounce of grenadine
  • 0.5 ounce of peach schnapps
  • 4 ounces of sparkling wine

Combine the grenadine and peach schnapps in a couple or champagne flute. Top off with the sparkling wine.

Summer Passion

Ingredients:

  • 1 ounce of passion fruit juice
  • 1 ounce of hazelnut liqueur
  • Grenadine
  • Champagne

Stir together the hazelnut liqueur and passion fruit juice with ice. Top off with champagne and a splash of grenadine. Garnish with a floating flower.

Love Blooms

Ingredients:

  • Sugar
  • Fresh strained grapefruit juice
  • 0.75 parts Lillet Rose wine
  • 1.5 parts American Harvest vodka
  • Champagne

Start by making grapefruit syrup: Combine equal parts of sugar and fresh strained grapefruit juice and place in a sealed container. Shake until the sugar is completely dissolved. Store in the refrigerator if you're not using it immediately, but this will last for up to one week if kept in the refrigerator. Combine chilled grapefruit syrup with all other ingredients in a shaker with ice and shake well. Strain liquid into a champagne flute, then top with champagne. Garnish with an edible flower.
